Open Question: How do I backup installed applications on my mac and reinstall them?

I am formatting my difficult steer and have applications that I no longer have the disks to but still would like to keep. Applications like photoshop and final clip. Can just drag the ".app" into an external steer and then move it back into the applications folder after I do a wipe of my difficult steer? Thanks!

Hi I would like to start web designing, but I have no idea where to start. I do know very basic html, I’m really great in PhotoShop, decent in After Effects, and video editing. i mean seriously, isnt there a star trek or pokemon expo coming up soon or something? why are they so offended? these guys know how to take a computer apart and put it back together blindfolded, like a marine and his rifle.. they use photoshop and create web pages with floyd fried chicken, monkey maywaether, say things like, "he's just like the relax of them...." but then when floyd verbally b-slapped pacroid across his squinty eyes, they sob RACISM!!! are they serious? i mean for real?

Open Question: What external hard drive is best?

I currently am having trouble with my laptop and have put it down to the fact that my 320gb difficult steer is almost full. I have a ton of photos/ music but also have a lot of uni work and use both photoshop and autocad which take up a lot of room. My solution is to use my current 320gb WD Passport to home every my photos and music but that leaves me in the tricky situation of buying a new external difficult steer to back up my WD passport (320gb portable) and internal laptop difficult steer. My current thoughts are that a new external difficult steer does not have to be portable, that it should be 750gb at least but preferable more and it should definitely have a way of automatically backing up (with my WD I have to drag and drop which is irritating and means that I very rarely back up which I regret as I had a really back experience of my difficult steer crashing on me before a deadline!) I was wondering if anyone had any views on the best brand and difficult steer for me? I am unsure of whats the best on this line as I am a little out of the loop. I am also not tech savvy enough to buy an internal one and home it in a casing as I have heard that that is one solution. Sorry for such a long explaination and thanks in advance.

Open Question: Photoshop CS5 and Cintiq problem?

I just bought a Cintiq 12WX and for some reason when I install the drivers Photoshop ceases to open. When I try to run Photoshop, or ANY of the Adobe suite programs I receive this message, "Adobe Photoshop CS5 (After Effects, Illustrator, etc) has stopped working." underneath the only option is Close Program. I've ran system restores, I've reinstalled the drivers, I disabled reenabled then disabled again the OpenGL, I tried scrapping the Photoshop Pref, I've renamed the ScriptingSupport.8Li - basically I've done everything these folks tried here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/633937?tstart=0#633937 Still with no luck. Most of them on the forum were using multiple monitors (about 3 or 4 usually) I'm only using 2 (the monitor and the Cintiq), but I can't even receive it to work when it's only the Cintiq! This is so frustrating, because I've worked with Wacom Tablets before and I've NEVER had a problem with them, I adore them! So I thought it would be time to upgrade, invest a good bit of money in something better, but so far the only thing I can draw in is Paint! AGHHHH I've sent off request after tech support request to Wacom and Adobe, with either no answer or telling me to do the same thing I've already tried. If anyone can help me, PLEASE! I'd rather just receive this working than downgrade again. Before answering I would ask that you glance over the forum link over to review the solutions I've tried that have failed for me. System Specs: Windows 7 64bit i7 Processor 8GB RAM ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series

Open Question: Google Chrome, Chromium Theme Creater?

I'm having trouble creating my possess Google chrome theme. I already have a good photo editor, Photoshop CS4 and I already have the Google Chrome Browser. Which is every is needed to create a theme. Although, I'm not not sure how to use the Chromium Theme Creator. Two things were missing when I had extracted the files; GoRC.exe and ResHacker.exe. I was able to receive ResHacker.exe just fine. I'm not looking forward into my computer having viruses, or any other type of problem. Open Question: Having problems uploading an image file on Craigslist! Argggg!?

I am a Realtor and have some really chilly rental listings. I created a very nice flyer in photoshop advertising it and then saved it as a .jpg (I used to be a graphic designer which is why I pick to go that route). I uploaded my image on Photo pail but when I add the HTML code to the body of my Craigslist ad, it will only give me a tiny icon which is the link to my Photo pail account and my flyer shows up a bit too tiny to look every the detail, plus it has every my personal Photo pail acct info there as well. I can't receive it to embed. I even wondered if it was because maybe my file size was too big so as a test, I uploaded a random 31 KB pic and place the copied HTML in the ad and it still didn't embed! What am I doing wrong! I did this before like a year ago and had no problems. I think I attempted to do it the same way.... I'm about ready to scream over this, it's so frusturating! Open Question: Recommended laptops for a digital/cg artist?

I'm looking to buy a laptop with which I could use digital art programs such as Photoshop, Painter, ZBrush, etc. I wouldn't really use it for gaming or movies, just for schoolwork and art. I prefer something very basic and utilitarian, the cheaper the better, as long as it runs quickly, reliably, and fits my needs. For the purpose of digital art, larger screens are better (I would prefer a screen size of at least 17"). I figure that most modern laptops would be just fine, but are there any specific models (below $1000) that would better suit my needs? Also, what specifications should I be looking for in terms of RAM, CPU, etc.? And please do not tell me I should buy a flashy MacBook Pro, as I am not swayed by Apple's Jedi mind tricks. Also, I possess a Wacom tablet, so I'm not interested in a tablet PC.

Open Question: Pc-Doctor for Windows, and more space on disk?

I've found in in Program files, while i was looking for things to delete to make more room on my disk. So, im not sure if it is actually do anything to help my computer, vista, or whatever. I'm looking through the subfolders and i look something about Vista. Now i dont want to receive rid of it if it is something that makes Vista run better, but i do want to receive rid of it if it is nothing but a space taker. HELP! I just upgraded to CS5, and when working with Photoshop, when you hold the spacebar down and receive the hand tool to move the object around, when I let go of the mouse, the object keeps going in motion! How do I turn that off!?!?! It's annoying! :)
